An EXCELLENT example of World War I , Bavarian Infantry Officer's Pickelhaube Helmet w/ Portmanteau. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with detailed Relief on Insignia obverse. All insignia and cockades present. Minor Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Chin-strap is present and lining is intact. Item is over 110 years old and had been utilised.
This piece is the M1886/14 Pattern Pickelhaube Parade Infantry Helmet , and features the extended cruciform spike and eight-pointed star rivet Assemblage for Commissioned Officer's. The ' Wappen' or Helmet Plate has been Gilded in 9ct Gold and features the legend : " Steadfast in Loyalty".
The Storage Portmanteau is in original shape, featuring all buckles and carry handle- displaying a minor repair.
