An EXCELLENT example of World War 2 ,  1940s South African Air Force , Pathfinder Bomber Qualification Badge w/ Stabilizer. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Pins and slide present.

The Pathfinder units were formed in 1943, by Bomber Command- for target marking of main enemy installations & V2 Rocket facilities at Peenemünde. The units were part of Operation Hydra and operated until 1945.

The ideal addition to any SAAF Second World War Era Insignia collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
