Mixed media, in visual art, refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been employed. There is an important distinction between "mixed-media" artworks and "multimedia art". Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media.

Sheila Hepburn Reid - Born is Sterling Scotland in 1931, Sheila received her education in art at the Alva Academy in Scotland. Sheila and her husband Bill Reid came to Africa (Rhodesia) in 1953, Sheila also lived in New Zealand for 10 years before finally settling down in South Africa, Sheila was a versatile artist that worked with all various of materials and media from oil portraits to acrylic and watercolour abstracts. Her favourite old artists were Cezanne, Matisse and Degas. Her artworks have been bought by private individuals all over the world including France, Belgium, America, Germany. Sheila unfortunately passed away on the 23 March 2014 at the age of 83, and will forever be missed by her family.
