An original solid brass Rhodesian Army compass manufactured by Rivron.  The compass face bears the serial number "RA1874".  (The 'RA' is for Rhodesian Army). The compass still has all of its original black paintwork, clear dials and the prism is fully functional.  The underside is stamped "RIVRON" and "M-73 PAT PEND" (patent pending).  Compasses of the same pattern were bought by various means for the army from various sources to circumvent the sanctions that were in place during the Rhodesian War. Great piece!  Note : I'm not sure if this particular make had a lanyard ring or not.  I can't see where one might have been fitted.
