Volume 1 covers post-1992 steam operations on main and branch lines, including the Caledon line over Sir Lowry’s Pass, the Franschoek line, Oudtshoorn-George, Kimberly-Beaufort West, & Worcester-Cape Town lines. Locos included are: 16D, 25NC, 7A & 7B, GF & GMAM.
Volume 2 is titled “The Garratts” and features classes GB, GF, GL, GEA, GMA & GO at work. Locations include Sir Lowry’s & Houhoek Passes, the Oudtshoorn-George line over the Montagu Pass, and a GO on the Ceres branch.
Volume 3 has the title “Express Engines” and covers 15A, 15E, & 15F, 16D, & 16DA, and 25NC. Routes include Ashton-Worcester, Modderpoort-Ficksburg, CT-Worcester, Bloemfontein-Thabanchu, & CT-Robertson.
