The Roman gladius was a fearsome and devastating stabbing and slashing weapon, by virtue of the fact that it could be used so effectively in Roman battle formations. It was the primary tool which conquered most of the known world, and which gave rise to the mighty Roman Empire.
This replica is approximate in size and appearance to a Mainz gladius, with a blade length of 55cm, width of 4.2mm and a full length of 76cm.
The scabbard is crafted of wood sheathed in stitched leather and copper.
This particular replica was used extensively in stage productions.
Affixed to a wall it would make a magnificent addition to your living-room decor.
