`Royal Crown Derby` Signed Cabinet Plate

Vintage 'Royal Crown Derby' Signed Cabinet Plate 

This wonderful, hand painted porcelain cabinet plate features a lovely signed, English village scene in the centre, with a broad, border of cobalt blue, decorated with white moulded vine leaves with gilt detailing and moulded gilt bunches of grapes. The plate has a scalloped rim with the edge moulded as a grape vine, also in gilt. The plate was made by the 'Royal Crown Derby' porcelain factory in Derby England, which was particularly well known for its high-quality bone china, and is one of the oldest remaining English factory's, which was established in 1750. The plate has the Royal Crown Derby backstamp with date 'XVI' on the back, dating this plate to 1953, and has the words 'OLD COTTAGEMONSAL DALE, probably referring to the scene on the front. Other than a tiny, very minor rim chip on the back (which cannot be seen from the front), the plate is in amazing condition and has a diameter of 22,5cm.
