This gorgeous original framed oil on board painting by South African landscape artist JHL Van Zyl is a beautifully painted painting and looks to be somewhere in the Cedar Mountains in the Cape. The painting has been framed in an awesome broad solid wooden frame which has been painted with a textures ivory colour paint. It would take a little effort to remove the paint and restore the frame to its former glory. The framed painting measures 64cm long x 48cm high and is 45cm long x 30cm high ex-frame. The painting is signed and is dated 1949. There is a little crazing in the oils which is to be expected, especially where the oils were applied quite thick. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this wonderful original South African landscape art and to confirm the condition.
