This incredible vintage mid-century (c1950's to 1960's) Vietnamese black lacquered chess board and backgammon combination board with stunning mother of pearl inlay detailing is a superb find. The time it must have taken to hand create and inlay each and every intricate mother of pearl piece must have take ages. These originally were crafted by skilled Vietnamese and sold in Russia in the 1960's, they were very expensive to buy then. The board measures 64cm x 57cm when open and 64cm x 28.5cm when closed. The hinged board has two clasps on the front. The board is superbly crafted and in beautiful condition, but does however have a little shape distortion. Please view the pictures carefully to fully appreciate this exquisite vintage chess and backgammon board and to confirm the condition.
