Original South African Half Crown issued in 1954, during the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The crowned coat of arms on the reverse reflects South Africas status at the time, while the obverse features a youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth II shortly after her accession. Struck in 50% silver, these Half Crowns were widely used in circulation, making well-preserved examples increasingly desirable to collectors today.
