This 1966 South African Silver 1 Rand features the iconic portrait of Jan van Riebeeck, a central figure in the countrys early colonial history. Issued during the formative Republic era, this coin represents the period when South Africa had firmly established its own national coinage and identity.

Struck in 80% silver and weighing 15 grams, this piece contains 12 grams of pure silver. The early RSA silver rands (1965-1976) remain highly sought after for both their historical importance and intrinsic silver value.Β
