An EXCELLENT example of a early to mid-20th Century Indo-Persian Pesh Kabz / Koftgiri Dagger with Scabbard. This popular pattern of Sharp Edged weapon was developed in Persia (Iran) during the late Middle Ages and spread to Hindustan -as well as- parts of Central Asia. The item has been adorned with a beautifully rendered multi-colored Enamel inlay present on both the Blade Hilt and Scabbard.
The Steel Blade features a recurve design, indicative of Iranian origin - and was intended as a thrusting weapon for penetrating Chain Mail armour. A perfect design for martial purposes, the Pesh Kabz remains an integral part of Ceremonial and Practical purposes amongst Pashtun speaking Tribesmen in North-Eastern Iran & the Mountains of Afghanistan.
The ideal addition to any Vintage Persian / Indian Sharp Edged Weapon or Dagger collection- for the enthusiast seeking a genuinely stunning display piece for their private assortment.
