An EXCELLENT example of a Stunning Mid-20th Century, Chinese Bronze Censer with Qilin Deity finial. This piece appears to be in a well-preserved state, with a beautiful floral naturistic relief , adorned with Eurasian Tree Sparrows. The finial is decorated with a recumbent Qilin Deity in the Ming Dynasty pattern of representation. The Qilin has been associated with Chinese Mythology since 500 B.C. & are considered to be protectors of the innocent from negative thoughts, envy, jealousy and the ' evil eye '. Indentation marks are evident on the Censer Rim & vessel body , from Age-related handling.
The ideal addition to any 20th Century, Chinese Cast Bronze Censer collection or display.
