Hardcover new and enlarged edition, 8th reprint 1948 published by Jonathan Cape. The paper jacket is worn, marked and torn in places, with a tape repair to the reverse. The spine and folds are sunned. The green cloth boards are clean and square. There is a book dealer label stuck to the inside front baord, and the stamp of a previous owner on the page opposite. The pages are clean and unmarked, and fold out maps are present and undamaged. The single page map between pages 198 and 199 has been sliced and rejoined near the spine with tape, possibly a production fault as issued, as the following page is blank.
