The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a science fiction comedy created by author Douglas Adams. Originally a BBC radio show, it was later adapted into books, a play, audio CDs and feature film in 2005. The storyline varies greatly over the different types of media. The five parts are "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe", "Life, The Universe and Everything", "So long, and Thanks for All the Fish" and "Mostly Harmless".

After being saved by his humanoid friend Ford Prefect (a miss-spelled name of the car sold in Europe) from being destroyed along with the rest of the human race, Arthur Dent travels with his friend to collect data for a revised edition of "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
