That number is too small for your naked eyes to see, and can only be seen with a diamond loupe.

(A loupe is a special magnifying glass used in diamond industry to inspect diamonds)

That number also corresponds to the number on your certificate for that specific diamond.

However, this is not always the case, as all labs charge extra fees for this service.

So next time you can ask the seller if the diamond has laser inscription.

If so, you can ask him for a loupe and compare that number on the diamond to the certificate.
