The Red Peter also known as the Peter Pepper & Chilli Willy is an heirloom hot pepper that turns from green to red. It is approximately 7.5cm to 10cm long and 4 cm wide when fully matured. The unusually phallic shaped fruits resemble human penises when fully ripe In addition to it being a great conversation piece, it has a hot taste ranging from 5 000 to 30,000 scoville units which makes it hotter than the tobasco pepper. It is native to Texas and Louisiana and grows great in our South African climate.
