                              The artist lives and works full time as artist in the Wilderness, South Cape.

                             She completed her BA FINE ARTS Degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1975 with

                             major subjects: the Art of Painting and the History of Art.

                             She sees herself as from Africa and therefore shares the rhythm and the pulse of the people

                             and the warmth and colourfulness of the colours that is so unique to this continent.

                             Irma works mainly in oils on stretched canvas, applying the paint with bold brush strokes in

                             an impressionistic way.
