This item is in a GOOD, USED CONDITION- All parts appear to be present, ribbon is intact and woven through Medal. INSPECT PICTURES CAREFULLY AS THEY FORM AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. 

Manufacturer :  E. Ferdinand Wiedmann

 The suspension ring has been clearly stamped with a "19" denoting manufacture by  E. Ferdinand Wiedmann.

The Winterschlacht Im Osten Medaille / Winter Battle in The East Medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 26 May 1942 for service in the Soviet Union following the 1941 invasion known as Operation Barbarossa.  Qualification for the award dictated that the recipient had to have completed 14 days in active combat , 30 air combat sorties, 60 days continuous service in a combat zone or being wounded.

A great addition to any Second World War (1939-1945) German Militaria / Medal collection or display - for the enthusiast seeking a superb presentation piece for their assortment.
