An EXCELLENT example of WW1 .925 Silver British War Medal & Victory Medal Pair. This pieces appear to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All Silk Ribbons and Medal Bar present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Recipient Name evident on both Medals.

The South African Heavy Artillery unit was formed in late 1915 , and deployed to France in early 1916. Commanded by British Officer's and attached to the Royal Artillery- the unit participated in the 1916 Somme Offensive & the 3rd Battle of Ypres in 1917 whilst assaulting the Hindenburg Line.

The ideal addition to any World War I Era Medal collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
