An EXCELLENT example of World War I , French Military Silverplated Shooting Medallion. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on obverse. All hallmarks present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Silverplated surface finish is largely intact.
This piece would have been awarded for marksmanship/ Shooting Proficiency in the French Army. The obverse depicts "Marieanne" of the French Republic crowning a French Soldier "Poilu" with a Victory Wreath.
