An EXCELLENT example of Second World War, 1930s French Military Sapper's Axe w/ Leather Mount. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All parts present. Blade is in good order w/ protection sleeve. Leather Mount displays wear to stitching and seam. Press Stud is functional.  Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface.

All military markings are present. 

This piece would have been utilised by Engineers and Sapper's of the French Army (Local & Colonial Forces) during the period 1939-1940.
