An EXCELLENT example of a First World War (1914-18) Bulgarian Infantry Aluminium Field-Used Waterbottle/ Canteen as carried by soldiers of the Bulgarian Army. The Canteen consists of a single Aluminium cast vessel that appears to have been secured with a Cork Stopper system ( which is no longer present ). The Waterbottle does display visible signs of age-related surface wear due to field usage in Combat Conditions.
Bulgaria joined the Central Powers of Germany & Austria-Hungary in 1915 and continued fighting alongside their allies until a separate Armistice of Salonica was signed in September 1918.
The ideal addition to any World War I , Central Powers Militaria collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their private assortment.
