An EXCELLENT example of an ORIGINAL, First World War (1914-1918) British Infantry 1897 Pattern Sword with Scabbard , as utilized by Commissioned Officer's in service of His Majesty , King George V. The Chrome finish on the Blade surface remains 95 % intact and retains a wonderful lustre ; in conjunction with detailed Acid-etching that displays the Royal Cypher.
Blade Tip and short cutting edge remain sharp - as originally intended ; being securely fitted to the Hilt and Steel Basketweave Pattern Hand-guard. The Leather Scabbard is in superb shape , with stitching complete and reinforced Chape present for field service conditions in ideal condition. Original Stingray Skin Handgrip on the handle , appears in an almost Unused state - having been ornamented with .925 Sterling Silver wire throughout.
