Ruby forms deep withinthe Earth's crust under immense heat and pressure, typically in metamorphicrocks like marble or basaltic environments, and is often brought closer to thesurface through tectonic uplift and erosion. Large stones of exceptional gemquality and clarity are incredibly rare.

Ruby has been activelymined and treasured for thousands of years, with ancient texts referencing itas the "king of precious stones." The most famous historical minesare located in the Mogok Valley of Burma (Myanmar), which has produced some ofthe world's finest rubies for centuries. The largest fine-quality rubiescommand higher prices per carat than almost any other colored gemstone.

In various cultures, rubies have historically been associated with power, passion, and protection, with ancient Mogok warriors even embedding them under their skin for safety inbattle.

The best quality rubystones are historically produced by Burma, particularly the legendary Mogokstone tract, which is famous for producing rubies with a distinct chromium-richfluorescence that gives them a vibrant, glowing "pigeon's blood" redappearance.

Please note: Wetake great care to ensure that the photographs are an accurate representationof the actual stone, but due to differences in screen quality and resolution, and the fact that the colour of a gemstone is dependent on the type of light itis viewed in, some variation is possible.
