The P-47 was one of the most famous fighter planes of WW II. Although originally conceived as a lightweight interceptor, the P-47 developed as a heavyweight fighter and made its first flight on May 6, 1941. It was heavily armed with eight .50 calibre machine guns and was also used as a fighter bomber armed with bombs and rockets. The version modelled is the bubbletop.
The model is pre-owned but not displayed.
The Collectors View.
This is an impressive piece of diecast. Dragon once again capturing the look of the real aircraft. Collectors are of the view that these casting are cleaner and in the view of many better than the competition. More P-47s were produced than P-51s.
