RELISTING DUE TO NON PAYING BUYER

Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. This rare, new and uncirculated crown (5 shillings) was issued to commemorate the centennial of Rhodes' birth and is among the final issues of the colony which was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956. The South African connection to this coin lie with its designers and off course, Cecil Rhodes.

Specification: 28.28 g, .500 fine silver, .454 troy oz ASW, edge lettered "1853 OUT OF VISION CAME REALITY 1953", designed by Mary Gillick and T. H. Paget.
