Bowkeria is a small genus in the Stilbaceae family with three species confined to the eastern regions of South Africa. It was named in 1859 in recognition of the contribution of the well-known naturalists, Col. Henry Bowker and his sister Elizabeth, to South African botany. Bowkeria cymosa is a beautiful South African shrub or small tree that grows to a maximum of 4 meters but can easily be pruned into a shorter form. This shrub or small tree has ovate hairy leaves and many beautiful cream flowers from summer to autumn. Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between watering.
