One of the highlights of mid-summer is viewing Angel's fishing rod in full flower. Resembling a fishing rod, long, arching spikes rise above the 100 cm grass-like leaves, each one drooping under the weight of pendular pink bells. To get the full benefit of this trouble free plant, grow it in a sheltered spot in full sun.

Dierama galpinii is semi-evergreen and grows to 1m in height. From spring to summer it bears erect flower spikes with many light pink to bright magenta-pink flowers.
