Red Calypso Beans are a rare heirloom bush variety bean. The unmistakable red and cream-colored markings curve around the bean. This annual plant is very cold hardy and grows best in full sun. Water it regularly for best results. These beans have a nice texture and are used as baking beans. The plants reach 40cm and are strong. The pods contain four to five seeds which are maroonish-red and white with maroonish-red dots in the white part of the seed. Harvest young as a snap bean and after about ninety days for dry use.
