Sparaxis is a genus in the Iridaceae family that is endemic to South Africa and found mostly in the southwestern Cape and the western Karoo. Sparaxis grandiflora ssp fimbriata is a South African endemic species from the Western Cape Province. It ranges from Piketberg to Hermon, Gordon's Bay and the Cape Peninsula. It grows to 45 cm tall. During spring it bears pale yellow to white flwers with black blotches. Sparaxis is recommended for cultivation in both gardens and containers.
