Wurmbea elongata is a South African endemic species from the Western Cape Province. It grows to 20cm tall with linear leaves. During spring it bears a spike of many honey-scented greenish white or cream flowers. Vernacular names include Swartkoppie. The seeds are best sown at the start of autumn.
