*ITHMID COLLYRIUM*

(Sulfide of Antimony)

There are many types of Collyrium (surmah, kohl) available - some of which contain dangerous amounts of lead, - but the type mentioned in the blessed hadith is known as *ITHMID*.

Ibn Majah has narrated in his Sunan that Ibn 'Abaas (Radiyya Allahu Anhu) related from Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam): "The best of your kohl (antimony) is the *Ithmid,* because it _clears the sight and causes the eyelashes to grow"._

Pure Ithmid is as rare as gold, and availability is very limited. The Ithmid type in particular promotes the production of Nitric Oxide in the eye, thus improving the immune system's ability to fight off optical infections.

*METHOD OF APPLICATION:*

Narrated by Tirmidhi that Ibn Abbass (Radi Allaho Anhu) said: "Whenever the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam) used to apply Kohl, he would use it thrice in the right eye; beginning with it and finishing with it and twice in the left eye."

Use preferably before sleeping.

3g (filled in a 3ml Attar bottle) with plastic or wooden stick
