"Ubulawu is not merely used to induce lucid dreams, but is a multi-faceted tool whose uses include connecting and communicating with one's ancestral spirits, having visionary and prophetic dreams, divination and finding answers to specific questions."
"S. kirkii contains several novel alkaloids, including kirkinine, a powerful neurotrophic. Neurotrophics encourage the survival of nerve tissue and helps to repair and regrow nerve cells. Very little research has been done in to this plant so far but the presence of this alkaloid indicates very promising things about the power of this amazing root"
To Reduce to Powder: The root is very brittle and fragile when fully dry, and is most often scraped with a sharp blade parallel to the root, falling into a container to create a very fine powder. This powder is used in most teas, infusions, or when preparing ubulawu.
"Uvuma-omhlope is traditionally used by the Zulu and Xhosa as an ingredient of a sacred root infusion. It is taken just before going to sleep, to aid in generating spiritual dreams.
This product contains root powder which can be used to make tea. Threshold dosages vary from person to person, but reportedly as little as 300mg - 400mg (upper range 600mg) is sufficient to provide the sought after effects. You may however need to experience a little to find a dosage that works for you.
Add the powder to hot water and let it steep for 5 minutes. Drink this 'dream tea' about an hour before going to sleep. The taste is rather bland, so sugar or another sweetener may be necessary."
