DESCRIPTION:
A solar geyser works by using vacuum tubes. These tubes have a vacuum between them and the inside layer has been sprayed with a layer that absorbs the UV rays of the sun. The water is heated when it fills the tubes and absorbs the rays of the sun. The vacuum converts these rays into heat and this allows the water to slowly heat as well, and it starts to rises. As this happens, the warm water is replaced by cooler water from a tank. This process continues and thus provides continuous warm water for the geyser.
"SABS APPROVED"
As most people know, these products work with the UV rays of the sun, so they are often wondering what happens when it rains or when there is no sun on certain days. Even though the heat production is reduced on overcast days, heat production does not stop entirely. About 25% of the sun’s energy still pass through the clouds and can be utilised. The solar geyser has space for an additional element that can be used on days that there is little or no sun, to ensure that warm water is still produced effectively.
There are two types of geysers available, low and high pressure. High pressure refers to homes and properties that receive water from the municipality via a pump system whereby the water is forced into your home, and this is referred to a high pressure water system. With a low pressure system typically found on rural area, farms & urban areas, they have a tank above the ground and once a pipe is opened, water is forced from the tank by gravity and moves into the house.
