This impressive 4.9" Spinosaurus tooth hails from the Late Cretaceous Kem Kem Beds of Morocco, dating back 95 million years. Large, well-preserved teeth like this are rare, as many on the market are composites.
The tooth features feeding wear at the tip, visible striations, and repaired cracks, with a piece of sandstone attached at the base for a total length of 5.46".
Spinosaurus was the largest known carnivorous dinosaur, measuring up to 59 feet long and weighing over 20 tons. Its sail-like back, crocodile-like skull, and raised nostrils suggest a semi-aquatic lifestyle.
The Kem Kem Beds are known for yielding Spinosaurus fossils alongside other large predators like Carcharodontosaurus and Sarcosuchus. This region is a treasure trove of late Cretaceous life.
Collectors should note: authentic large Spinosaurus teeth are rare and often heavily restored. FossilEra clearly discloses repairs and restorations in their listings.
