Monopotassium phosphate commonly referred to as MKP, is a chemical compound with the formula KH2PO4 is a soluble salt which is used as a fertilizer, a food additive and a fungicide. It is a source of phosphorus and potassium. The solution contains Potassium ( K ) : 280 g/Kg, and Phosphorus ( P ) : 220 g/Kg, The composition may vary slightly over time, depending on manufacturers available supplies.
Phosphorus plays a vital role in root development, early plant establishment, and energy transfer within the plant. It helps crops flower earlier, set more fruit, and produce healthier seeds. Without enough phosphorus, plants struggle with shallow roots, delayed flowering, and reduced productivity.
Potassium, often called the quality nutrient, regulates water balance, boosts photosynthesis, and strengthens plant structure. It improves fruit size, taste, color, and shelf-life, while also increasing resistance to stress, pests, and diseases. A lack of potassium leads to weak growth, leaf damage, and poor-quality yields.
Together, phosphorus and potassium work in perfect harmony. Phosphorus drives root and shoot growth, while potassium enhances strength, flowering, and fruit quality. This balance ensures vigorous plants that are more resilient and more productive. Being 100% water-soluble and chloride-free, MKP is safe, fast-acting, and suitable for all crops, whether applied through foliar spray, irrigation, or hydroponics.
