What is a LED light?
LED is an acronym for light-emitting diode. LEDs is the future because unlike bulbs that can shatter, they are robust and highly resistant to shock and vibration. Due to the solid-state nature of LEDs, there are no filaments to break, no moving parts to fail and no glass components of any kind.
LEDs present many advantages over traditional light sources to name but a few:
• Lower energy consumption;
• Longer lifetime;
• Improved robustness;
• No maintenance;
• Smaller size;
• Faster switching.
2.5W high quality SMD LED light has about the same light output as a 25W incandescent or halogen light!
Now multiply that with the number of 25W lights at your premises, 10( 2.5w LED’s) will use the same power that 1 (25W incandescent) will use and will last 10 longer.
Advantages of LED Lighting

• Shock resistance: LEDs, being solid state components, are difficult to damage with external shock, unlike fluorescent and incandescent bulbs which are fragile;
• Focus: The solid package of the LED can be designed to focus its light;
• Toxicity: unlike fluorescent and energy saving lamps, LEDs do not contain harmful mercury;
• Environmentally friendly: A buildings carbon footprint from lighting can be reduced by up to 65% by exchanging all incandescent bulbs
with LEDs;
• Economically sustainable: LED light bulbs is a cost effective option for lighting a home or office space because of their very long lifetimes.
