5 Squadron SAAF
15 Squadron [Afr: 15 Eskader] was reformed at AFB Swartkop on the 1st March 1967 and started receiving the Super Frelon from 19th July. From 6 January 1969, "B" Flight was formed at Bloemfontein. Only on 1st January 1981, was "A" Flight transferred to Durban. 15 Squadron used the Super Frelon and Alouette III in the Troop and Equipment Transport/Naval Support/Search and Rescue Support roles. After the Super Frelons were retired in 1991, the squadron continued with the Puma and Alouette III. The Pumas were then replaced by the Oryx during 1994 and a little while later the Alouettes were replaced by the BK117.
