Will fit atop the air rifle - over the dovetail railing or in front of, wherever the weaver railing is desired. The bottom, as illustrated, hugs the contour of the upper rifle action line. As the name suggests - this is intended as a permanent fixture on the rifle. If the screw holes do not fit on / align, you'll need to use epoxy instead. In fact, we strongly recommend this method as opposed to just relying on a set of screws to do the job. This is handy if you might have an old school air rifle or firearm / rimfire, and would like to affix a scope, w/out permanently affixing mount rings onto the rifle action. This is also cheaper than taking it to a competent gunsmith and having a dovetail milled out. Just be perfectly sure to work perfectly level and be sure to do your preparation adquetely prior to applying the epoxy.
