A Rare 1764 Copy of Edward Gibbon's An Essay on the Study of Literature.

Edward Gibbon's first book:

Written in French, it serves as a passionate defense of the humanities. Gibbon argued against the dominance of mathematics and science in the Enlightenment, asserting that studying history and classical literature builds empathy, improves critical reasoning, and unites human experience.

It was first published in 1761, making this a very rare, early copy of the book.

This Book is in good, readable condition for it's age. There is minor age related wear on the cover.
