1863 Cover from Tenby to Crickhowell, Franked with a Penny Red SG 42 (Die II, perf 14, corner letters M F), tied by the barred oval numeral 784 of Tenby with matching TENBY AU 11 1863 circular date stamp. Reverse bears a Newport transit backstamp of AU 11 1863 and a Crickhowell arrival mark of AU 12 1863 and also a black wax seal embossed with a crest.Addressed to J. A. A. Davies Esq, Solicitor, Crickhowell, this cover illustrates classic South Wales routing of the period. A fine dualcancel usage, firmly tied to the SG 42 issue introduced in 1861, combining origin, transit, and arrival markings with strong provenance. The top part of the cover was folded at some point, condition is as seen.
