A note like this just never comes up for sale and is one of the first to be offered on BidorBuy. This is an extremely rare Durban Bank Twenty Five Pounds, dated 12 April 1864. It is listed in Herns book on South African Banknotes and Paper Money as no 144. When held up to the light, the water mark of Durban Bank is distinct on the note. The note is in original condition with no tears or holes.
This is a true numismatic item and a real piece of South African history.
