An EXCELLENT example of an 1870s Franco-Prussian War: German Artillery Field Glasses Set with Leather Storage Case. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with minor wear to the brass optical frame- in the form of a small dent . All manufacturers markings are present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. The original Leather retention strap has been subject to repair.
** NOTE: Leather Parts are complete but are fragile & must be handled with care.
A piece such as this, represents an Early example of Artillery Field Glasses as produced by Emil Busch AG , of Rathenow (Prussia-Brandenburg). Artillery Officer's would have utilised such an item during the bombardment & siege of Paris in 1871.
