This is an exquisite example of hand painted porcelain at its best. Dating back to around the 1870's it is thought to have originated in Germany.
The fine workmanship of the painting is unsurpassed and must have originated from a very wealthy home
There are no indications on either the back of the cup nor the saucer as to the manufacturer. The gilding is in very good state, showing just a little wear on the actual handle. A very delicate and small set, the saucer measures just 9.5 cm across whilst the cup stands at just over 4.5 cm tall
No chips are evident and the only mark is a small brown casting fault on the inside of the cup.
Please note, I am NOT a qualified archaeologist/antiquarian and the description I have given is based on research of the subject.
