These coins are from the President Burgers of the ZAR era in the same time frame when the extremely rare Burgers Pond Coarse and Fine Beard variety were minted. This would have been the first coinage of the ZAR but due to the controversy surrounding the Burgers Pond, never materialised until 1892 when Paul Kruger was president. Indeed a very rare pair.
Mintage only around 50 for each coin. The mintage of these coins are well below the legendary 1931 King George V 3 penny (tickey) which had a mintage of 128.
These coins are very, very rare. Only for the serious collector.
