1875 LARGE & RARE ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED JOHNROUND & SON SHEFFIELD SERVING SPOON OMNI HANDLE DESIGN
Thefirm was established by John Round in Sheffield in 1847 as a small workshopattached to his house in Tudor Street. He proved successful and went intopartnership with his son Edwin, then becoming John Round & Son. In 1874 thefirm became John Round & Son Ltd. and in 1875 used the trade mark of aglobe under the name Edwin Round & Son. In 1886 the firm began to use afour trident as its trade mark. In the 1930s the firm was purchased by JospehRodgers & Sons.
Thissplendid item is an antique silver plated serving spoon manufactured by JohnRound & Son around 1875 and created with the classic Omni handle design.Also known as the Satin design by Oneida cutlers. The spoon has a cursivemonogram (B) etched on the handle top.
