For Sale is a SATIN GLASS ROSS'S SODA BOTTLE circa 1880's-1890's, with round bottom and is 9 1/2"/ 14 CM long . The bottle is embossed with "ROSS'S" on one side and "BELFAST" on the opposite side. It is a very heavy thick bottle with a greenish hue. It is in very good condition for it's age. I have seen a couple of these and they weren't in as good a shape as this one. NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER TO REPORT!!. Nice addition to your collection. Historical facts: This class of soda bottle is unusual in that they were intended to NOT stand upright. The round bottom were designed to ensure that the bottle was laid on its side so that the wired down cork would not dry out and shrink allowing the contents to loose carbonation or evaporate.
