1887 Great Britain silver Double Florin graded XF40 (Extremely Fine) by the SANGS.Weight of 22.62gm and 0.925% silver.Nice high grade coin that catalogues at $200 in XF.This is the Arabic 1 in the date variety.This coin has been incorrectly labeled as a half crown.
The double florin, or four-shilling piece, was a British coin produced by the Royal Mint between 1887 and 1890. One of the shortest-lived of all British coin denominations, it was struck in only four years.
