Description
Issued during the early reign of the Daoguang Emperor (18201850) of China's Qing Dynasty,

This 1 cash coin dates specifically to the years 18211823.

The obverse bears the inscription "DAO GUANG TONG BAO" in orthodox Chinese script,

with the character "GUANG" rendered in a small form and "TONG" noted for its closed headtypological features that aid in attribution.

Struck in brass and measuring 23.5 mm in diameter with a weight of 4.46 grams, the coin has a square central hole,

consistent with traditional Chinese cash coinage.

The reverse carries the Manchu script "BOO YU WAN" (Board of Works, new branch mint), read from left to right,

identifying its production under imperial oversight.

These coins were produced for everyday use in the Qing economy but have since become important cultural relics, reflecting both political authority and artistic craftsmanship.

This specimen exhibits fine calligraphic detail and clear mint marks, making it a desirable example for collectors of Chinese numismatics.

Condition
Well-preserved with legible characters on both obverse and reverse; light wear consistent with circulation.
